Did you know?

Did you know that Somalian sheep have no wool?

Did you know that a farmer in Somali has thousands of goats while we have one at Glenside Farm?

Did you know that the fat from the sheep can be kept up to three months in a jar and used for cooking in Somali?

Learning from other cultures in our community brings such richness. Today we had the privilege of welcoming men seeking asylum and at present living in County Down. As the sun shone it was great to introduce them to our livestock. They enjoyed meeting our stock bull, welcoming our five day old calf and asking lots of questions about our Blue Texel sheep.

The morning was supported by Ards and North Down Good Relations team and Mears Housing as we embark on a six week programme working with volunteers.
