The art of hospitality

This morning we had the privilege of welcoming a group of Syrian women for an educational visit to the farm, organised by Nicola from Footprints Women’s Centre. Only half an hour before arriving we had two lambs being born. Iain was able to share the joys and challenges of sheep farming in Northern Ireland and the work involved during lambing season.

The morning ended with all of us round the table sharing food from Syria. What a feast! Listening to conversation, hearing laughter, sharing recipes and being in a safe space of welcome was therapeutic for all of us.

A fabulous morning with lots of mutual learning….. and the sun shone!
